Somersworth: Alfreda Carignan, 93, of Charpentier Apartments, died October 28, 2011 at her home. A Somersworth native, she was born here August 26, 1918 the daughter of John and Cordelia (Letendre) Milidonis. She was the widow of Omer Carignan who died in 1985. Her apartment is in the former St. Martin Academy, from which she was a graduate. Members of her family include her daughter, Carol (Mrs. Daniel) Lachance of Barrington, her sons, David Carignan of Rochester and John Carignan of Middleton, and her sister, Anita Colbroth of VA. Alfreda s 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren also survive her. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday November 3rd at 11am at St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish in St. Martin Church, Somersworth with Rev. Michael S. Taylor, pastor as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Somersworth. In lieu of flowers please make a donation of food &/or money to the Somersworth Food Pantry (176 West High St.) in Alfreda s memory.
