Aline Annette (Lessard) Perreault, 90, devoted wife of Leonard “Len”
Perreault, originally of Somersworth, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully after an illness at All American Assisted Living, Kingston, New Hampshire, on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
Aline was born on July 25, 1936 in Somersworth. She was the eldest of three daughters born to Clothaire “Babe” Lessard & Irene (Leclerc) Lessard. She attended St. Martin’s Parochial School where she was often praised for her beautiful penmanship. Aline graduated from Somersworth High School with the Class of 1954.
A devout Roman Catholic, Aline attended church services in every community where she lived. Among others, she attended St. Martin Church in Somersworth; Holy Angels Parish in Plaistow, New Hampshire; St. Anne Church in Hampstead, New Hampshire; and St. Theresa Parish in Rye, New Hampshire.
Aline was a dedicated, dependable, meticulously organized career woman throughout her varied 40 years of employment. From 1954 to 1960, Aline was a billing clerk for General Electric in Somersworth. In 1970, she was hired as the secretary/bookkeeper for Kimi Nichols Development Center in Plaistow, New Hampshire, for which she chaired many fundraising events.
In 1979, Aline was hired by Compugraphic Corporation in Haverhill, Massachusetts, as the Plant Manager’s Secretary. Later in 1987, her dedication and efficiency were rewarded when she was promoted to Administrative Assistant to the Executive Vice-President of Agfa Corporation – formerly Compugraphic – in Wilmington, Massachusetts. In 1996, Aline – who was fluent in French – was honored to be selected to train all field service representatives on the order entry system software program for Agfa’s multiple locations in Canada. Aline’s 15 years of service at Compugraphic/Agfa ended upon her retirement in 1994.
Aline met her husband Len in kindergarten. They were married in Somersworth in 1957 and started their family in 1958. Raising their three children in Atkinson, New Hampshire. Aline worked skillfully and tirelessly tending to her beautiful flower gardens. She helped with the planning of many neighborhood block parties, turning those fun events into cherished memories for her children.
Between the mid-1970s and early 1980s, Aline was an active member of Timberlane Regional High School’s athletic boosters in Plaistow, New Hampshire. She often could be found supporting her children and proudly cheering them on from Timberlane’s basketball bleachers or the football field sidelines. Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Aline watched and supported each of her five grandchildren with pride as they participated in their activities that included dance recitals, dance competitions, horseback riding, T-ball, soccer, and football, as well as theatrical, choral, orchestral, and rock music performances. Together with their children and grandchildren, they enjoyed many vacations at Wells Beach in Maine, in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, and at the Walt Disney World and Universal parks in Florida.
After becoming empty nesters, Aline and Len were fortunate to have experienced many wonderful years of vacationing together. They traveled the world to such places as Canada, Europe, Alaska, the Caribbean, Hawaii, and Bermuda. Aline particularly loved cruising with family and friends.
In preparation for retirement, Aline and Len diligently searched the seacoasts of both New Hampshire and Maine to find the perfect location to build their summer– and then later more permanent retirement home. One goal for this home was that it needed to be large enough to accommodate all of their children and grandchildren for family vacations. The perfect spot was eventually found on the shore of Gouldsboro Point Bay, Maine, where their gorgeous dream home was built.
It was there that, for several years, they, their children, and grandchildren made numerous family memories. They enjoyed each other's company while also appreciating Aline’s expansive and beautifully cultivated flower gardens, playing games inside and in the yard, savoring annual lobster and steamer feasts, and taking advantage of the ocean views and fun at Schoodic Point, Cadillac Mountain, Bar Harbor, all that Acadia National Park has to offer.
Aline’s loved ones frequently benefited from her Acts of Service love language that was expertly expressed through her cooking. Family fan-favorites included Aline’s delicious French crepes, spaghetti and homemade meatballs with sauce, traditional tourtiere, rich chocolate mousse for the holidays, flavorful ham salad, tasty Hungarian goulash, and – in her own words – “to die for” brownies, double chocolate chocolate chip cookies, and oatmeal scotchies.
After living in Maine and prior to moving to All American, Aline spent many summers with Len living at Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, and later in Danville, New Hampshire. While at Hampton Beach, Aline enjoyed living near her children and grandchildren, walking the beach, and she volunteered several times for the annual Seafood Festival. Winters were spent in Clermont, Florida, where Aline loved socializing with friends and other couples. She enjoyed spending quality time with her sister, Mona, and her family who lived nearby. She was an active member of The Red Hat Society, participated in water aquatics, and spent hours playing cards and Bingo in the clubhouse of their gated community. Aline also volunteered her time to help plan events for the community’s Social Committee.
During her two years living at All American, Aline quickly became a well-loved and valued member of that community. She frequently raved about the kind staff and the excellent care she was receiving there. She could often be found helping to cook and prepare snacks for social hours, preparing crafts for events, listening to music, watching magician performances, playing cards, and most recently having a little dance lesson from a professional ballroom dancer. Aline especially looked forward to group rides to the beach and ice cream destinations, and she took every opportunity to ride the All American van to see seasonal decorations and Christmas lights.
Aline, affectionately known as Memere or Mem to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many of her grandchildren’s friends, enjoyed a long, full, productive, and meaningful life. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all for her kind and friendly disposition, thoughtfulness, generosity, beautiful gardens, and her amazing cooking and baking.
In addition to her parents, Aline was predeceased by her beloved sister, Carol M. Lessard, in 2020.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, Leonard Perreault of Kingston, New Hampshire; her three children, Glenn Perreault and his wife Donna (Goodrich) Perreault of New London, New Hampshire; Lisa (Perreault) Tyree of Millbury, Massachusetts; Gary Perreault of Danville, New Hampshire. She was a proud Memere to her five grandchildren: Lauren (Perreault) Mason and husband, Bret Mason of Grantham, New Hampshire; Dr. Casey (Perreault) Rankins and husband Dr. Scott Rankins of Bow, New Hampshire; Ashley Tyree and her life partner Tom Carbonneau of Worcester, Massachusetts; Gabrielle Perreault and husband Richard Pflug of Somersworth, New Hampshire; Derrek Perreault and his wife, Lindsey (Messina) Perreault of Brentwood, New Hampshire. She loved and treasured her four great-grandchildren, Avery & Henry Mason; Isla & Cameron Rankins; and she was happily anticipating the birth of her third great-granddaughter, Perreault, due any day. Aline is also survived by her sister, Mona (Lessard) McDonald of Alfred, Maine, and several cousins, nieces, nephews, many friends across the country, as well as all the kind and supportive staff and friends she made during her two-year residence at All American Assisted Living.
Friends are invited to visitation hours with the family on Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 am at Bernier Funeral Home, 49 South Street, Somersworth, New Hampshire.
