Eliot- Ann M. Emery , 73 of Johnson Lane in Eliot died on May 29, 2017 at her home following a struggle against Parkinson's disease.
Born in Eliot on March 10, 1944 to Roland and Marjorie ( Cournoyer ) Goodwin. She attended local schools graduating from Eliot High School with the class of 1962.
In 1963 she married her high school sweetheart David Emery and together they made a home and started a family in Kittery. Ann continued her education at Mary Hitchcock School of Nursing earning her nursing degree.
She worked as the public health nurse in Kittery for a number of years, for Community Partners division of community health working with the developmentally disabled in their homes, spent many years as a Eliot Health Council Volunteer at the Eliot Well Baby Clinics and was a beloved substitute school nurse at SAD 35, she also worked in occupational health at Davidson Rubber for a time.
In 1978 they built their family home in Eliot, where she was blessed to be a stay at home Mom while her kids were growing up. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, word games and the like but her first love was unquestionably her family. Time spent with her children and most recently her beloved grandchildren whom she adored.
Ann is survived by her loving husband of nearly fifty four years David Emery, children; son Scott Emery, daughter Lisa and her husband John Lapierre, son Christopher and his wife Deborah Emery, son Eric Emery and his fiancé Danielle Breton, brother Paul and his wife Sandi Goodwin, sister Virginia and her husband Richard Elwell, grandchildren ; David and his wife Lauren, Alicia Lapierre, John Jr. and his wife Jenna Lapierre, Aiden, Ella, Mabel and Everett Emery, great grandchildren Amelia, Connor and Josie.
Friends are invited to visit with her family on Sunday from 1-2 pm in the First Congregational Church of Eliot UCC 1361 State Road Eliot Maine 03903, where a funeral will be celebrated at 2 pm with the Rev.
