North Berwick, Maine - Arlene Margaret Verville, 92, of Varney Crossing Nursing Home died December 4 after a period of failing health.

She was born on February 20, 1925 in Newmarket, NH the daughter of Hector and Georgianna Grenier.

Mostly a homemaker, she also spent time as a shoe worker. She loved her family and had an affinity for animals especially several Norwegian Elkhounds she and her husband rescued.

She is survived by her loving children: son, Wilfred (Billy) Verville and his wife Janet of North Berwick; daughter, Carol Verville of Naples, Florida; sisters Irene Fagan of Dover, and Anita Doherty of Durham, son-in-law, Jerry Lessard; grandchildren Suzanne, Heidi, "Little" Billy, Kimberly, Parish, Jayson and 12 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence and daughter, Kathleen Lessard.

Visiting hours are at Bernier Funeral Home, 49 South St., Somersworth on Monday, December 11 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm with service to immediately follow.  Internment after the service is in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Somersworth, NH.
