Obituary

East Wakefield- Armand C. Roy, of East Wakefield, NH, died peacefully on Monday, September 25, 2017, at Wentworth Douglass Hospital, surrounded by family, and the love of his life Frances Roy.

Armand was born in Dover, NH, on January 17, 1941 to William and Leona Roy. Armand graduated from Somersworth High School in 1959. He then went on to Portsmouth Vocational Tech as a machinist in 1963. Armand will be most remembered for owning and operating Rey's Pizza & Seafood and Jo Jo 's Ice Cream in Somersworth, NH. He finished his career at PSNH in Newington, NH.

Armand loved hunting, fishing, and boating with his family at his summer home on Great East Lake.  He was known for his quick wit, and giving ways. Armand was involved in many community activities, and was instrumental with the organizing of the Christmas lighting program in Somersworth.  He enjoyed spending winters in Bradenton, FL., and loved playing Bocce ball and going to the beach.

Some of Armand's favorite things included McDonald's, donuts , black coffee, apple pie and pier French fries from Old Orchard Beach.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Frances Roy of East Wakefield, NH; daughter Wendy and husband John Viola of Somersworth, NH; daughter Judy and husband Tim Turgeon of Somersworth, NH; sister Priscille Roy of Zephryhills, FL. 5 grandchildren Brianna Viola and a significant other John Occhipinti; Brandon Viola and fiancé Lindsay Chamberlain; Brooke Viola ; Dayle and husband John Crocker; Cote Turgeon all of Somersworth, NH.

He was predeceased by his parents William and Leona Roy; brother Edward Roy and sister Theresa Bergeron; and his beloved son Chuck Roy.

Services: Calling hours will take place Friday, September 29th, at Bernier Funeral Home, 49 South St., Somersworth, NH, from 4pm to 7pm. A graveside service will take place at 10am Saturday, September 30th, at Mt Calvery Cemetery, Cemetery Road, Somersworth, NH. A celebration of life will be announced Friday evening.
