Obituary

Kittery- Arnold S. Bartlett, 97 of Kittery Estates in Kittery died on January 3, 2015 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Eliot on September 28, 1917 he was a son of C. Edward and Jean (McRae) Bartlett. He attended local schools graduating from Eliot High School with the class of 1935. He furthered his education earning a four year degree from Northeastern University. Arnold served his country as a member of the United States Army and from 1941-1945 as a flight instructor for the United States AirForce. In 1947 he married his loving wife Anna (Tobey) Bartlett and together for over sixty seven years they made a home and family on Old Dennett Road where they built their home . He worked as a manager and Vice President of the Morley Button Company in Portsmouth for thirty five years before his retirement. He enjoyed time spent with family at camp on Mousam Lake, boating, entertaining and fishing. He and Anna enjoyed travel including trips to Hawaii, California, Florida and Kentucky, he also enjoyed cooking and was a talented furniture maker. Arnold is survived by their son Randy and his wife Nancy and their son Drew Bartlett all of Eliot and neices and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife Anna and a brother Ned Bartlett. A funeral will be celebrated on Friday at 11 am in the JS Pelkey Funeral Home 125 Old Post Road Kittery Maine 03904. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to Make A Wish Foundation 87 Elm Street Suite 203 Camden, Maine 04843.
