Somersworth - Arthur R. Perreault 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday Nov. 25, 2017
Born April 15, 1928 in Somersworth N.H. where he lived his entire life. Son of Arthur and Marie Olida (Roy) Perreault. He was married on November 10, 1951 to the love of his life, Lena (Gagne) Perreault. They were happily married for 56 years until her death in 2007.
Arthur Worked at Somersworth Wood Heel Co. for 35 years, and Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (shop 11) where he eventually retired from. He was a devout Catholic and communicant at St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish St. Martin Church in Somersworth his entire life.
Arthur was a member of the Holy Name Society at St. Martin Church. He was involved with Troop 195 Cub and Boy Scouts for 3 plus decades, as well as a member of the Dover Seniors, where he took many trips with Lena to Florida, Washington D.C., Myrtle Beach, Foxwoods, and Canada to name just a few.
Arthur spent many summers at Lake Wentworth with his family. He enjoyed playing cards with friends, and at St. Martin whist parties. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Arthur was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Olida; sisters Rita and Lucienne; brothers Lucien and Ovila. He is survived by sons, David of Rollinsford, Ronald of Somersworth, Martin and wife Betty of Rochester; daughter, Ann-Marie Hopper and husband John of Aurora Colorado; grandchildren, Alysun Grondin and husband Daniel of Rollinsford,Darren Perreault and wife Erin of Berwick Maine, Ian Hopper of Aurora, Colorado; great grandchildren, Calvin and Maxwell Grondin of Rollinsford, Jackson Perreault of Berwick Maine; sisters in laws, Blanche Lessard and Julliette Laprise; nephew, Joseph Charbonneau, wife Carmen and family of Madawaska, Maine as well as several other nieces and nephews.
Arthur's family would like to thank the staff at Riverside Rest Home for the compassionate care given to Arthur while he was a resident there.
Services: Visiting hours will be Tuesday, December 5, 2017, from 4 to 7 pm, at Bernier Funeral Home, 49 South St. Somersworth, N.H. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 2 pm, at St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish Holy Trinity Church, 404 High St., Somersworth, N.H. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Scout Pack/Troop 195 at St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish, St. Martin Church, or to St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish, St. Martin church directly.
