Aurora
Moldes
Jul 5, 1944 — Jul 29, 2025
Born July 5, 1944, in East Boston, MA, to Anita Fernandez Martinez and Adolfo Fernandez, both descendants of Spain.
Aurora grew up in East Boston until the age of 16. The family moved to Saugus with her parents and two brothers, her late older brother, Adolfo Fernandez Jr., and younger brother, Antonio Fernandez, whom she adored.
Aurora graduated from Saugus High School in 1962. She loved to sing and had a beautiful singing voice, passing up a chance to study with the Metropolitan Opera for wedded bliss. Although in later years she was heavily involved with the North Shore Chorus of Sweet Adelines, to which she had so many friends and fond memories of competitions and adventures that she loved so much. After graduating from high school, Aurora worked in banking and held various administrative positions over the years. The latest was in the medical field, where she retired in 2019 from Memorial Hospital in Conway, NH.
During a trip with her family to visit relatives in Spain and attend a festival, she met the love of her life, Francisco Moldes Siso. After corresponding for a year, Frank came over to America in 1964. They celebrated their 59 years of life together on March 19 of this year. Building a life together in Saugus, they had a beloved daughter, Luana Moldes Westcott, in 1970. They lived in Saugus until 2004 and moved to Conway, NH.
Aurora leaves behind her husband Frank and daughter Luana, son-in-law Jonathan Westcott, and her one and only grandchild Ian, whom she would lovingly refer to as "my boy" with a big smile. She also leaves behind her family from Spain, brother-in-law Antonio Moldes Siso, Sister-in-Law Lita Moldes Cruz, niece Iria Moldes Cruz, partner Alex Lovell, nephew Roi Moldes Cruz, and wife Claudia, brother-in-law Avelino Moldes Siso, and sister-in-law Antonia Cortez, sister-in-law Purita Moldes.
Aurora touched the hearts of many, and we cannot forget to mention very close friends who were always there, Brian and his partner Maria of Conway, NH, long-time neighbors and friends from Saugus, the O'Toole family, had only one child, daughter Colleen "Ms. Queenie," as Aurora would call her, who was their second daughter, good friends Trisha Quinn, with whom she spoke daily, Adele Penkel, and many caring others.
Although Aurora is no longer with us, may her warmth and caring light continue to shine on through all who knew her
