Dover, NH- Barbara Lagueux, 78, of Dover, NH, passed away on July 14th, 2023. She was born on July 29th, 1944, to parents Maurice and Lillian Nadeau.

Barbara was a lifelong resident of Somersworth.  She loved playing cards with family and was known as a hard worker.  She worked in several shoe shops in Somersworth, Dover and Rochester over the years.  She enjoyed a few years of retirement before becoming the primary caregiver for her husband in his last years.  Life was often challenging for Barbara, but she found some independence and community in the years following his passing.

Barbara was known for her extensive collection of refrigerator magnets, most received from family.  She had a world class collection of frog figurines and in her first days at the nursing home, it was a stuffed frog with her son's name and phone number that brought her comfort.  She was always sipping from a cup of plain hot water and had no qualms of asking for it.  Barbara was a walking rolodex of phone numbers, birthdays and anniversaries.

Barbara is survived by her son, Shaun Lagueux, Daughter-in-law Patricia, and granddaughter Emma; her siblings Robert and Denise Nadeau and family, Michael Nadeau and family, Debra and David Bowman and family; many, many aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She is predeceased by her husband, Donald Lagueux.
