Dover – Beatrice Kean, 98, of Dover, passed away on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at St. Ann Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

She was born on June 13, 1918 in Boston, Massachusetts, a daughter of Edward and Florence (Reinig) Weithaas.

Early in her adult life, Beatrice was a Carmelite Nun; she will also be remembered as an avid social activist.

She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence C. Kean.

Survivors include a niece, Ellen Bollen of Bridgton, ME; and nephews, Paul Plumer of Topsham, ME and John Plumer of Kensington, NH.
