Eliot- Bertha ( Furbish ) Faulkner, 88 of State Road in Eliot, formerly a long time resident of Kittery and Zephyrhills Florida, died suddenly on May 26, 2017 her camp in Raymond Maine following a period of declining health.
Born in Kittery Maine on January 7, 1929 she was a daughter of Raymond and Dorothy (Mountford) Furbish, she attended local schools graduating fromRW Traip Academy with the class of 1946. In 1948 she married Carl J. Goodwin and made her home in Kittery until his sudden death in 1977.
Bertha enjoyed a career at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard first as a telephone operator and later in the payroll department.
She was an avid reader, loved to play and win at cards and cherished time at camp on Raymond Pond.
Bertha and her late husband David Faulkner enjoyed many summers in Maine and more than thirty years at their home in Zephyrhills, Florida where they had many friends and she was very active socially.
Her first love was her family, she is survived by her children; Elaine Wormwood- Boston and (Ken), Eileen (Thomas) Brown, Ellen (Steven) Robinson, Carla (Bill) Robinson,Carol (Clifton), Locke, Judson Goodwin, Andrea Burton. She was also survived by a special daughter in law and caregiver, Paula Searles. She also is survived by 14 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grand Children and 1 Great Great Grandchild. She was predeceased by 5 siblings. She is survived by sister Gwendolyn Damon and brother Bruce Furbish.
Friends are invited to visit with her family on Friday from 3-5pm in the JS Pelkey Funeral Home 125 Old Post Road Kittery Maine. A funeral will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 am in the Eliot United Methodist Church on Route 236 in Eliot with the Rev Sue Frost officiating.
