Betty Adams, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on March 4, 2026. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Born in Eliot, Maine, Betty spent her life sharing warmth, kindness, and joy with those around her.
Betty was a talented cook who loved entertaining and gathering people around the table. She had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, ensuring family and friends were always well fed and cared for. Her family was the center of her world, and she was fiercely loyal and deeply devoted to them. She especially treasured the life she built with her husband, Gary.
Betty raised her family in Kittery, Maine. She and Gary later settled in Greenville, Maine, where they enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors with family and friends. In time, they made Punta Gorda, Florida their winter home, where Betty formed many new friendships and continued doing what she loved most, hosting and bringing people together.
Betty and Gary loved to travel, exploring the United States in their motorhome and visiting destinations such as Hawaii and their beloved Tahiti. She also treasured her sister trips and many adventures with family and friends, creating countless memories along the way.
Betty was preceded in death by her son, Tommy, whom she lovingly cared for throughout his life after he was born autistic, devoting countless hours to nurturing him and ensuring he had the best quality of life possible. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Nancy; her brothers, Donny and Jack; and her parents, Doris Crowley and John D. Grover.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Gary Adams; her children Robert Adams (Lynn), Karen Adams-Stadig (Keith), and Katherine Adams-Gary (Charles); her six grandchildren, Gabrielle, Cameron, Brittany, Bryan, Nicholas, and Amanda; and her two great-grandsons, Nico and Nolan.
There are no formal services planned at this time. The family will hold a celebration of Betty's life in the spring. Those wishing to attend are welcome to reach out to the family for further details. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Betty's memory to The Birchtree, 215 Commerce Way, Suite 300, Portsmouth, NH 03801.
