Blanche T Fortier, 100, of Somersworth, NH, passed away on June 9, 2023 with her family by her side after a short period of failing health.

Blanche was born on March 2, 1923 to Hermenegilde and Marie Louise Boivin in Fitchburg, MA.  Her family later moved to Amesbury, MA where she lived until 1946, when Blanche married Richard Fortier and they moved to Somersworth, NH.  They had 2 children, Richard and Roger.

After Blanche retired, she enjoyed spending time outside doing yard work.  She was also an excellent seamstress and loved making clothes for her grandchildren.

Blanche was predeceased by her husband, Richard and her 9 siblings.

She is survived by her son Richard and daughter-in-law Mandy, son Roger, granddaughter Monique and great grandson Tanner, grandson Richard and his wife, Bethany and great grandchildren Natalie and Blake.

Services - A wake will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Sunday, June 18th, 2023 at the Bernier-Pelkey Funeral Home, 49 South St., Somersworth, NH 03878.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Martin Catholic Church of St Ignatius of Loyola Parish, 120 Maple St., Somersworth, NH 03878 on Monday June 19, 2023 at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charitable organization you feel strongly about. Care of the Fortier Family has been entrusted to the Bernier – Pelkey Funeral Home.
