Carl
Doore
Jan 12, 1956 — Jul 29, 2024
Carl (Cudge/Cudgie) Doore passed away after a long battle with cancer on July 29, 2024. He was 68 years old. Carl was born at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina to Avis and George Doore and grew up in Kittery, Maine. It's safe to say Carl came out of the womb testing the boundaries. Even as a small child he was fearless, loud, and the best time anyone ever had. Eventually, the boundaries pushed back, and after personal struggles, the result was conversion to faith in Jesus Christ, which made all the difference.
Cudge was a larger-than-life presence everywhere he went. If you were around him, you were laughing and knew he cared about you. Cudge had a way of making you feel like you were the only person in a crowded world; he had a desire to help anyone and everyone down on their luck, and he made millions of friends along the way. Most recently, he was a taxicab driver in Rochester, NH, serving the population in need of social services with whom he shared not only his faith, prayers, and encouragement but with whom he also did what he could to provide for physical needs.
Carl met the love of his life, Cheryl, when they worked together at Strafford Guidance Center in 1994. They married in 2009 and spent the last 30 years together.
Carl loved to ride his Harley. He attended Bike Week in Laconia every year. Watching the hill climb was one of the highlights of summer for him. Another summer highlight were the many years he spent at camp on the lake with Cheryl, his kids, and grandkids. He loved being in the water, fishing off the dock, jet skiing, and watching Floyd, his beloved golden retriever, hunt for fish near the shore. He loved watching his children play sports and more recently, his grandchildren.
Carl was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Michael Doore, and his sister, Gerry Doore Eliades. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Doore; children, Christopher Doore, Cassandra Doore, Kyle Doyon, Joe Linteau, and Sarah Curley; grandchildren, Jameson, Ryland, Scarlett, Colton, Colbie, and Dax; and his sisters, Linda Jameson and Pam Russell.
A private burial will be held later this month. The celebration of life will be held on August 25th from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Living Water Church in Elliot for family and friends. All are invited.
To honor Carl, and in lieu of flowers, please consider paying it forward with small acts of kindness to those in need, like those Cudge will always be remembered for.
