Springvale, ME – Carol A. Blanchette, 71, of Springvale, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital.
She was born on November 10, 1945, in Elizabethtown, NY, a daughter of Louis Levy and Eleanor (Cawley) Dorthmeister.
Prior to her retirement, Carol was employed as a toll attendant for the Maine Turnpike Authority.
She was an avid quilter and loved to play Bingo.
Her husband, Robert Blanchette, predeceased her.
Survivors include her five children, Walter Mitchell and his life partner, Jorge of Houston, TX; Della Norton and her husband, Jeffery of Oakland, ME; Dawn Bitomski and her husband, Mark of Kittery, ME; Diana Mitchell and her fiancée, Mark of Cypress, TX; Shawn Blanchette of Springvale, ME; eight grandchildren, Joshua, Jeremey, Laura, Amanda, Andrew, Meila, Kaitlynn and Joacelynn; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Brenda Wemette, Norma Lau, Iris McGinnes, and Lynda Bond; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: NHSPCA, PO Box 196, Stratham, NH 03885.
