Obituary

York, ME - Chester J. Marden, 82, Ret.MSgt. USAF passed away at his home on October 23 with his family by his side after a long illness.

He was born July 1, 1939 in Amesbury, MA the son of the late Chester M Marden and Edwina Syvinski Marden Marble.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Mills Marden; his 3 children Deborah L Bass of North Bend, WA, Leilani Tibbetts of Farmington, NH, and Robert J Marden of North Bend, WA; 4 Grandchildren: Jamie and Timothy Bass of North Bend, WA; Nancy and Peter Marden of North Bend, WA; Step-sister; Sharon Marden of Sanford, ME; Brothers: Mark Marden of Kingston NH and Keith Marden, South Hampton, NH.

He was predeceased by his sister, Diane Thomas.

Chet proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years as an explosive ordinance technician. He was a Vietnam Combat Veteran and spent tours in Korea, Hawaii, Spain, and retired out of PEASE AFB.

After retiring he started a new career at the PNSY as a marine machinist and planner, retiring after 15 years. He then worked for a defense contractor out of Dover, NH

Chet was a member of the First Parish Church in York.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donation be made is Chester's name to the York Hospital Hospice at 127 Long Sands Rd, #12, York, ME 03909 or another charity of your choosing.

Services- A Graveside Service will be held for Chester at 2pm on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the Southern Maine Memorial Veterans Cemetery at 83 Stanley Rd, Springvale, ME 04083. Care of the Marden Family has been entrusted to the J S Pelkey and Son Funeral Home.
