Claudia Ngangi of Somersworth, NH, passed into eternal life on March 9, 2016, after a two-year battle with cancer. She was 45 years old. Claudia will be greatly missed by her husband of sixteen years, Jorgen Rompas; her son, Ritchie Matthew, a freshman at Somersworth High School; her daughter, Shania Rachel, a sixth-grader at Somersworth Middle School; and a host of close friends.
Claudia's final days were spent at Hyder Hospice House in Dover, surrounded by family and friends.
Claudia was born on April 8, 1970, in Jakarta, Indonesia, to Fanny Valentino Ngangi (father) and Pop Margaretha Juliana (mother). When she was 4 years old, Claudia relocated to Kombi, Tondano, to be with a grandmother. She lived in Kombi until graduating from the Ministry of Education and Culture Manado Institute of Teaching and Pedagogy with an English Language major in 1995. She then moved back to Jakarta, taking a job with the P.T. Gemilang oil company. In 1998 she was baptized at the Effatha Protestant Church in Jakarta.
Jorgen Rampas, Claudia's eventual husband, arrived in New York City from Indonesia in 1995. A mutual friend introduced the couple to each other, and they dated by phone until 2000 when Claudia was able to come to the States. A week later, in Manhattan, they were married and soon moved to New Hampshire.
Claudia worked at J-Pac in Somersworth for 11 years. She was a member of Imanual Indonesian Lutheran church in Newington where she served several terms as an Elder on the Church Council.
Claudia is survived by a step brother, Daniel Abraham; and a step-sister, Meita Maria Magdalena. Timotius Titus, another brother, pre-deceased her.
