Eliot-Dana Hoyt, 53, passed away in his home on January 3 with wife and kids by his side. His love of wildlife, hunting, fishing, and family live on through them.
Dana is predeceased by his father, Walter Hoyt.
He is survived by his mother, Millie Hoyt, his wife and high school sweetheart of 33 years, Elizabeth (Liz) Hoyt, their son Kenneth Hoyt with wife Julie who gave Dana two grandchildren, Shane and Ryan, his daughter Meagan Blanchette with husband Nick who gave Dana two grandchildren, Cora and Coulson, his daughter Ashley Hoyt with boyfriend Joe Walsh, and his two beloved dogs, Archie and Norman.
He is also survived by his sister Joanne with her husband Jay, his brother Mike with his wife Tracy, his brother Tommy with wife Leslie, and his brother Brian.
Dana has many nieces and nephews he loved very much along with his extended family at Northern Pride Lodge.
The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard was Dana's place of employment for 16 years. He was very proud of his participation as a member of the emergency facilities response team. As a member, he earned his captains license to operate large boats on the riverway.
It is his and his family's wish that those who feel inclined to contribute can pay respect by donating to the Barbara Bush wing at Maine Medical Center in Dana's name. A memorial celebration will be held Wednesday January 10, 2018 at 5pm with fellowship and refreshments to follow until 8pm at Spring Hill Lodge 117 Pond Road South Berwick Maine 03908.
