Dana L. Rivers of Somersworth, NH died unexpectedly Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover, NH at the age of 77.

Born in Portsmouth, NH, on March 31, 1945, he was the son of Raymond and Avis (Bray) Rivers.

Dana grew up in Eliot, Maine and graduated from Eliot High School in 1963.  He then went on to earn a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Maine, Orono in 1967.  He was an Eagle Scout and served active duty in the Army for three years.  He worked as a Logistician Manager for the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command in Warren, Michigan for over 30 years before retiring to Somersworth in 2006 to be closer to family.  He served as a member of the Somersworth School Board for 10 years.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Carol of Somersworth; daughter, Kari of Maplewood, Missouri; brother, Gregory and his wife Jacqueline of Kittery Point, Maine; nephew, Anthony Rivers and his wife Cheryl and their children Willis, Tyler and Lindsay of Cape Neddick, Maine; nephew, Jonathan Rivers and his wife Melissa and their children Abigail and Isaac of Kittery Point, Maine; brother-in-law, David Spinney and his wife Debra of Coral Springs, Florida and their son Matthew; and his beloved cat Zoey.

Dana will be remembered for his witty sense of humor and impeccable memory.
