Stow, Ma. - David P. Gagne, 60, of Stow, Massachusetts, died Thursday, November 30, 2017.
Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, on January 14, 1957, he was the son of the late Albert "Pete" and Margaret (Minot) Gagne. David is survived by his loving companion, Joyce Welsh of Stow, Massachusetts; son Jonathan and his wife, Kristy of Freeport, Maine; daughter Melissa and her husband, Sander Falzone of Barrington, New Hampshire; mother, Margaret of Attleboro, Mass.; sister Karen and her husband, Tom Guard, and her son, Ian Graf of North Attleboro, Mass. He was a beloved "Papa Dave" to grandchildren, Emily & Avery Gagne and Evan Falzone.
David grew up in Attleboro, Mass. graduating from Attleboro High School and Massachusetts Maritime Academy, where he earned his engineering degree and excelled in basketball. The majority of his well-respected career as an expert in the field of valve engineering was spent at Baumann Control Valves in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
A longtime resident of Eliot, Maine, David enjoyed fishing, particularly on Megunticook Lake in Maine, usually with a cigar in hand. He liked craft beer and bourbon and was known to find the best kinds to deliver to his friends. David had an infectious sense of humor and could always put a smile on anyone's face, no matter how many times he told the same stories.
Services: Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, December 10 from 2-4pm at JS Pelkey Funeral Home in Kittery, Maine. A celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 11 at 10:30am at Eliot Baptist Church in Eliot, Maine. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.jspelkeyfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention or the Megunticook Watershed Association. Care for the Gagne family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.
