David A
Glenn
Apr 4, 1953 — Feb 16, 2025
David A. Glenn, 71, of South Berwick, Maine, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, leaving behind a profound legacy of love and cherished memories. Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, he was the beloved son of Ruth Bissett Glenn and Martin Glenn. David grew up in a large and loving family alongside his siblings: Linda Irons, Jackie Barlett, Jeff Glenn, Ronald Glenn, and Susan Glenn. With a career spanning over 20 years, David was a skilled industrial automotive mechanic at Bailey's, where his dedication to excellence was evident in every aspect of his work. His practical skills were matched only by his generosity in sharing knowledge with younger mechanics, including close family members, neighbors, and friends.
As a father, David was a beacon of love and support for his three children—Erin Glenn, Nicholaus Glenn, and Andrew Glenn. He instilled the values of hard work, perseverance, and compassion in them. His role as a grandfather brought him immense joy; he adored his grandchildren—Karyzmah Barnett, Desire Brooks, and Logan Glenn— delighting in their accomplishments and sharing precious moments filled with laughter and play. He was also blessed to spend time with his great-granddaughter, Nyla Berube, whom he loved dearly. David shared many joyful years with Cheryl Woodman in South Berwick, creating a loving home surrounded by an extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins who regularly gathered for celebrations, holidays, and family traditions. These gatherings were lively events, filled with stories, laughter, and an unmistakable sense of belonging.
His passion for the outdoors was evident in the camping trips he enjoyed with his children, grandchildren, and family dogs, which were always filled with laughter and adventure. As a lifelong sports fan, he passionately supported the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots, and the Celtics, celebrating their victories with uncontainable enthusiasm. In quieter moments, he found great joy in reading science fiction novels, losing himself in imaginative worlds full of adventure.
David also loved taking long car rides with the family dogs down what he fondly referred to as "short roads." He particularly cherished Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, with his first dog, Thor, whom he acquired in 1974, igniting his passion for the breed. Over the years, he owned many more retrievers of this breed, all of whom he loved deeply, with Dixie being one of the last retrievers he cherished.
David A. Glenn's absence will be profoundly felt by his family and all who knew him. A celebration of his remarkable life will be held at a later date. His warmth, humor, and love will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who loved him. Rest in peace, David; your spirit and legacy will endure through the lives you touched.
