David
Linscott
Oct 3, 1959 — Sep 8, 2024
David Linscott died on September 8, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones at home in Portsmouth, NH. He was born October 3, 1959, to Nelson "Bud" and Nancy Linscott. The middle of six children, David was a loving brother to Nelson "Buddy," Jayne, Dan, Ronnie, and Bonnie. He graduated from Traip Academy in 1978 and attended one year at the University of Maine Orono. He returned to the seacoast of Maine in 1980, where he immediately began his career in plumbing and heating, which would continue for over forty years.
In 1989, David married Mary Kay (Chavez) and began their family, having their two beloved children, Andrew and Molly. His proudest title was "Dad," and he worked endlessly to support their endeavors. In 2007, David purchased the Linscott family farmhouse in Kittery, ME, and turned it into a decade-long "project." Although a self-proclaimed "forever Mainah," he permanently relocated to Marco Island, FL, in 2017, where he thoroughly enjoyed his retirement. David spent his last years enjoying a lively social life on Marco, as well as traveling to many parts of the world. His favorite trips included fishing in Costa Rica, hunting in Alaska and Tennessee, and driving the entire East Coast in a pop-up trailer.
David was well-known to many as the life of the party and maintained his quick wit and sarcastic attitude throughout his illness. His favorite memory was his "protest" in 2011 to a town ordinance, lining his entire property with toilets filled with flowers, stuffed animals, and figurines. The scotch-loving, loud plumber with a "North Kittery" accent loved to play pranks and make others laugh. He returned home to the seacoast in his last year of life to do just that with his family.
He was predeceased by his parents, Bud and Nancy, in 2009. He leaves behind his son Andrew and his wife, Sarah, of South Berwick, ME; daughter Molly of Rochester, NH; the mother of his children, Mary Kay and her mother, Marilyn; and the extended Chavez Family of Portsmouth. He also leaves behind grandpets Porcha, Claire, Beau, Miller, and Penelope. His services will be held at J.S. Pelkey in Kittery, ME, on September 22, 2024. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to www.missionmsa.org.
