Obituary

David J. Wentworth, 84, of Somersworth, died peacefully on Monday, November 20, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 8, 1933, the son of Harold and Irene (Hennessey) Wentworth. He was a life-long resident of Somersworth and graduated from Somersworth High School in 1950.  He worked many years at General Electric Company where he retired.

"Wheezer" was a man with many passions, none more important than his family.  He was a member at The Somersworth American Legion and Rochester Elks. He and his wife enjoyed the 55 years they spent together at English's Campground on Ossipee Lake. He treasured boating, fishing, hunting, stacking wood, collecting and crushing cans, and telling countless stories to family and friends. He was an avid "yard saler" who loved a good bargain. He will be lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jeannine, of Somersworth; brother Donald, of Rochester; son Dennis and wife Sharon, of Berwick, ME; son Ricki Wentworth and girlfriend Bonnie of Somersworth; son Scott and wife Debbie, also of Somersworth. He was a proud "grampy" to seven grandchildren, Nicole White and husband Adam, Ashley Wentworth and fiancé Kevin Canney, Adam and Ashley Tibbetts, Zackary, Jesse and Tanner Wentworth.

He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Harold, and three sisters, Kathryn, Dorothy, and Jackie.
