ELIOT, ME — David Robert Willis, 65, loving husband of Anne (Woodsum) Willis, died Saturday, October 10, 2020 under the care of Beacon Hospice.

Mr. Willis was born at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville NC on May 31, 1955, and was the son of the late Veronica (Connors) and Robert E. Willis. His father was in the Marines, which resulted in many moves in his younger years, after which David settled down in the Portsmouth NH area, and later in Eliot ME. He worked as a HVAC Technician at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for over 32 years where he met the love of his life, Anne. After retirement in 2015, he enjoyed spending time with his beloved family and closest friends.  As an avid hunter and fisherman, he loved being outdoors. He was happiest when he was helping others.

In addition to Anne, his wife of 23 years, he is survived by two stepchildren, Nicole Hughes and her fiancé Daniel Noonan of Eliot Maine, Daniel Hughes and his partner Brandi Wilcox of Newmarket NH, his Mother-In-Law Patricia Woodsum of Newburyport MA, and his beloved dog and best friend Charlie Cooper.  Mr. Willis was predeceased by his siblings Wayne Willis and Dianne (Willis) Walker.

Mr. Willis is also survived by four loving grandchildren, Cameron Hughes, Valerie and Paislie Noonan, and Carly Wilcox. In addition, he has two grandchildren on the way, one who's name will be Edward David, in honor of Mr. Willis.  He is also survived by Chelcie Spears, who was like a daughter to him, and many other loving family members and friends.

He will be sadly missed by his loving family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Bowdoin Mill Island #300, Topsham, ME 04086.
