Obituary

Berwick, Maine

Delina D. (Perreault) Fortier, 93 of Berwick, Maine died Sunday, April 2nd, 2017 after a decline in health. She passed peacefully at home with her loving family by her side.

She was born on January 19, 1924 in Sanford, Maine, the daughter of Richard and Emma (Duchette) Lapanne.
She worked various jobs throughout her life including waitressing at Vigue's Restaurant, a top stitcher at Roberts Shoe Co. for many years, and later as a seamstress for Marion's Bridal Shop. She loved sewing but her favorite job was being a mother and a wife. Her family meant everything to her and they were the center of her world. She was a true blessing to all that knew her. She had an open door policy in her home: "come one, come all, everyone is welcome." She loved having family and friends over for visits, cookouts, or just a cup of tea. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her later years and she was later blessed to become "Nana" to her great grandchildren. She had six sisters and four brothers and was very close to all of them. She loved to have them over for karaoke or to join her on one of her favorite day trips to Foxwoods or Oxford Casinos. She spent many of the past winters vacationing in Florida with her husband and her siblings and their spouses.

She is survived by her husband of 13 years Robert W. Fortier of Berwick, Maine; two daughters Roseanne M (Perreault) Lanoie and husband Paul, and Kathleen Perreault of Springvale, Maine, two grandchildren Michelle (Lanoie) O'Rourke and her husband Timothy of Farmington, NH, and Gerard Lanoie and his wife Kelly of Lebanon, Maine; four great grandchildren Hanna and Ryan Lanoie, and Shane and Ian O'Rourke; sisters Marie "Tootsie" Michaud and her husband Paul of Lebanon, Maine, and Rosilda Dionne of Rochester,NH; and brother Roger Lapanne and his wife Eileen of Zepher Hills Florida. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins including a very special niece Lauretta "Pudgy" Adams who took her out to breakfast every Tuesday morning.

She is predeceased by her father and mother, sisters Coranna Thibeault and her husband Lucien, Irene Nye and her husband Kenneth, Doris Couture and her husband Fred, Delia Veno and her husband Roland; and brothers Ernest and his surviving wife Alice, Henry and his surviving wife Lorraine, Herbert and his surviving wife Marion.
