Eliot- Denise Marie LaPointe, 63 of River Road in Eliot died on February 3, 2015 at Mass General Hospital in Boston. Born in Portsmouth NH on November 18, 1951 she was a daughter of the late Edwin and Eva ( Patch) LaPointe. She attended local schools graduating from Eliot High School. Denise worked for many years in the retail industry, most recently for managing the Another Chance Animal Rescue Thrift Store in North Berwick. She dearly loved animals and put her heart and soul into the animals she worked to support. She adored children and was a loved aunt to her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed travel, reading and hours of solitaire. After her retirement she became very interested in Eliot History and the good work of the Eliot Historical Society. Denise is survived by her loving family, a sister Betty and her husband Jim Hasty of South Berwick, brother Edwin LaPointe Jr. and his wife Harriet of Portsmouth, and a sister Linda Collins of North Berwick, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Shirley Morton and Kenneth LaPointe. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday June 3 at 12 Noon at Brooks Memorial Park in Eliot, ME. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the Another Chance Animal Rescue POB 552 North Berwick, Maine 03906. Care for the LaPointe family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.
