Obituary

Kittery – Donald ("Donnie") Joseph Camden, Jr., 61, of Kittery, Maine, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on May 24, 1955, Donnie was the eldest son of Donald J. Camden, Sr. and the late Josephine (Wiggin) Camden.  Donnie grew up in Kittery and Eliot, Maine and graduated from Marshwood High School, Class of 1973.

Donnie worked at Kittery Cycle and trained in motorcycle mechanics before moving on to the Wentworth by the Sea Country Club where he had worked for the past twenty-eight years and was currently the Head Mechanic for the golf course.  An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, lobstering and especially loved being out in the woods and nature, and hunting at the family camp in Canaan, Maine. Donnie was a quiet man who cared greatly and took pride in everything he did, and he did it well.

Donnie was predeceased by his mother, Josephine Camden, in 2009. Along with his father, Donald, Sr., formerly of Kittery and Eliot and currently of North Berwick, survivors include his life partner, Kate Ouderkirk of Kittery; his siblings Diane DiCredico and her husband Bernard of Eliot; Sandra Patrick and her husband Henry of Wells; Gail Richardson and her husband Eric of South Berwick; and Jack Camden and his wife Jennifer of Kittery Point; nieces and nephews include Daniel DiCredico and his wife Kera of Berwick; Bryan DiCredico of Eliot; Jessica Asher and her husband Anthony, currently stationed in South Korea;  Michael Patrick and his fiancée Christine of Newmarket;  Nick Richardson of South Berwick; Cameron, Jared and Kylie McIntire of Kittery; grandnieces and grandnephews Emma and Ava DiCredico of Berwick;  Logan and Zoey Asher of South Korea; and great-nephews  Eben and Rylan Camerato. Donald is also survived by many cousins and their families.

Services will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, ME.  Visiting hours will run from 2:00 – 4:00 pm, to be followed directly after with a memorial service at the funeral home with Rev. Brad Hirst officiating at 4:00 pm.  Reception to follow, locally.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorial contributions be made to your local Salvation Army, York Hospital, York, ME., or to a charity of your choice.
