Somersworth-Donald J. Carr passed away on July 24th, 2012 at Wentworth -Douglass Hospital after a period of ill health. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, son of Emil & Anne Carr. He was a graduate of LaSalle College H.S. and St. Joseph's University, PA. For 20 years he served his country as a pilot in the USAF. Upon retirement he pursued a variety of occupations from education & safety to sales. Over the years Don was involved with Big Brothers, Kiwanis, Parish Council, REGAP, CVHS, Chamber of commerce and served in his community as Ward Selectmen, Clerk, and Supervisor of the checklist. He enjoyed every activity from the mountains to the ocean without reservation. He is survived by his wife Paula Carr of Somersworth, his brother Michael and wife Susan of Bend, OR, Aunt Helynn & Uncle Jim Starr of Portland, OR and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish/St. Martin Church 120 Maple St., Somersworth, NH on Monday, July 30th, 2012 from 10 to 11:00 a.m. followed immediately by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Bourne National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Donald's name, may be made to St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish, PO Box 70, Somersworth, NH 03878 (in memory of Don Carr).
