Portsmouth - Doris M. Cushing, 81, of Portsmouth, NH died peacefully January 28 at The Edgewood Centre. Doris is one of nine children born to the late Mose and Santa (Columbo) Bellucci.
Born April 11, 1935 in Portsmouth, NH, she attended Portsmouth schools, graduating from Portsmouth High School in 1953. She worked at Watts Fluid Power in Kittery, ME for 11 years. She also worked at The Edgewood Centre in Portsmouth, NH, retiring after 21 years. Doris enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends and she also enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
Survivors include four children, Andy Leary of Tennessee, David and Sally Leary of Eliot, ME, Susan and Gregg Seward of Eliot, ME and John Leary of Seabrook, NH, eleven grandchildren and 12 great-Granchildren. Sisters Josephine Cavallaro of Methuen, MA and Gloria Ayotte of Exeter, NH.
Doris is pre-deceased by 3 sisters, Madeline DeGraff, Antoinette Littlejohn, and Clarice Cooley and 3 brothers, Americo, Mose, and George Bellucci.
Doris's family would like to thank the entire staff at The Edgewood Centre for their caring and loving support during her stay there.
Per Doris's request, there will be no calling hours. Graveside services will be in the spring at Calvary Cemetery, Portsmouth, NH.
