ELIOT, Maine -- Doris T. Place, 84, died Wednesday, April 21, 2016, at Kennebunk Nursing and Rehab Care Facility in Kennebunk, ME after a lengthy illness.
She was born April 2, 1932, a daughter of Cora Bouchard and Hampy Madore. Sister to Pat and Richard Madore. She was a graduate of the Fairfax County Adult Education Department of Fairfax, Virginia. She went on to work for many years with this department until retiring from it and moving her way back to Eliot, Maine. She made many friends and thoroughly enjoyed her years there.
Surviving Doris is one daughter, Sandra Place Tyler, Walter (her significant other) and Sandy's twin sons, Kevin Jacob Tyler and Daniel Patrick Tyler. In addition to a step granddaughter, Christina Coomb. She also leaves behind from her deceased daughter's (Linda Lee Place) side two grandsons, Christopher Dana Chappell and Matthew Robert Chappell and his wife (Katy) and great grandson, Liam Chappel with another on the way and one granddaughter, Jennifer Brooke Chappell and great grandson, Ryan Green. Doris leaves behind a deceased son, Michael Gary Place as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was blessed to marry into her sweet, beloved Mickey's family (Leon Dana Place) and cherishes her friendships with the late Guy and Phyllis, the late Richard Place, Calista and the late Jim Baker, Arthur and Rene Place, Ronald and Sue Place, the late Debra and her husband, Mike Lamontangue, and her sister-in-law, Jean Place. Along with many other friends and neighbors, especially Doris Caldwell whom she has known for 57 years.

SERVICES: Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, from 5p-7p, at JS Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, Maine. Internment will be private at a later time.
