Duncan
Raeside
Jun 11, 1941 — Oct 12, 2021
Duncan Raeside of Eliot, Maine passed away on October 12, 2021. He was born on June11, 1941. He graduated from Eliot High School in 1960, attended the University of Kentucky, and graduated from Nasson College in Springvale, Me in 1969. Duncan was most proud of his time in the service, serving with the Army 101st Airborne Division as a paratrooper. He often joked that he made one too many jumps as he suffered with back pain in his later years. He began his life's career with Liberty Mutual as an underwriter in 1970 and served as Director of Administration in Boston. But Duncan's true love was golf. He started as a caddy at Cochecho Country Club when he was 12. He was so proud of his single digit handicap he had for years. He even had a rare double eagle. He was a lifetime member at Cochecho and spent much of his spare time there with his golfing buddies and served as Vice President of their Board of Directors. He married his wife, Suzanne Somes Raeside, in 1967 and they spent most of their marriage in Eliot, Maine. He was so proud of his two sons, Mark Raeside (Dee) from Atlanta Ga. and Travis Raeside (Jessica) of South Berwick, Maine. He was predeceased by his parents, Douglas and Gladys Travis Raeside and his brother James.
He had eight wonderful grandchildren that brought him great joy: Vincent Antinozzi, Tyler Raeside, Colby Raeside, Kendra Mayo, Ashlee Mayo, Madison Mayo, Sydney Mayo, and Brady Mayo.
He is also survived by his favorite and only sister, Nancy Zaramba (Kenneth), his sisters in law, Martha Raeside, Barbara Doane (Jack), and brother in law, Jim Somes (Debbie), and eight nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Cornerstone Hospice, 178 Farmington Rd, Rochester, NH 03867 .
