Dustin D.
Lee
Apr 20, 1955 — May 3, 2023
Dustin D. Lee 68 of Eliot Maine died peacefully Wednesday, May 3rd 2023 with his loving wife Linda of 44 years by his side.
Dustin was born April 20th, 1955 in Eliot and graduated from Marshwood High School in the Class of 1975. Dusty participated in track, ran cross country, and played football for the Marshwood Hawks while in high school. He was well known and loved all over town. Dustin lost his birth parents when he was just a young boy and was raised by Bill Boyce and Nancy Boyce whom he loved as Mom and Dad his whole life. Dusty, along with his brother David, were blessed to have many extended family members to love and care for them while they were growing up in Eliot.
Dusty was one of a kind, he was a hard working, industrious and proud man, who had an answer for anything and everything that you could think of. His knowledge of history was unlike any other, he could recite dates, names, times, and any facts you cared to know, as well as some you didn't. Dusty was the "Soup Man" before there was a soup man, and there was never, "NO SOUP FOR YOU!". He would start with just a small pot, 2 or 3 quarts of something, and pretty soon it became 5 gallons of something else! We joked that he would retire and hang a sign out on the side of Long Pond in Jackman and invite all the snowmobilers on trailside for a cup of his hot homemade soup. He loved Jackman, and he spent all summer long waiting for Long Pond to freeze over so he could get out there across the lake to the other side on his snowmobile and just go! He loved nature, he loved hanging out at the Eliot Camp for years, as well as in Jackman, with his extended family. He was fiercely loyal and strong as an ox until the end, and like his brother in law Hank, he was the glue! If he loved you, it may not have been spoken, but he made sure you knew it.
Dustin was a mason by trade, he worked for Tri City Masonry for many years, then worked for Ted Place Masonry in Eliot, then finally owned his own business, Dustin D. Lee Masonry, until he semi retired at 62. Dustin was an artist at his craft, he left his mark in the bricks and mortar of every fireplace, hearth, and chimney he laid. Anyone lucky enough to have a hearth laid by him in their home will be blessed with a 'Lee Masterpiece' forever.
Dustin met Linda Pike one summer at one of the famous Eliot CB Jamborees on River Road and the rest, as they say, is history. They were married as teenagers and that love story lasted for over 44 years. They were never blessed with their own children, but they were blessed with three beautiful nieces, and a nephew, and four grand nieces, who they consider their own.
Dustin was predeceased by his Parents, Charles Lee and Geraldine Bragg Lee, his Dad William Boyce, his Father in Law Henry I Pike II, His Brother in Law and best buddy, Henry I Pike III, his Brother David Lee and his Sister in Law Deborah Pike.
