Kittery, ME – Edwin Allen Bowen passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021. Edwin was born September 18, 1936 to Dorothy and Samuel Bowen in Randolph, VT.

Edwin grew up on a farm in Claremont, NH and went to school there before moving to Maine.

Edwin proudly served his country in the United States Army for a few years.

He met his wife Ellen Hubbard and made their home on Payne Rd, in Kittery Point where they lived for 47 years, enjoying their family.

Edwin worked as a carpenter for many years before going to work for G H Harman in Mass, where he retired in April, 1998.

Ed Enjoyed his Harley Davidson Motorcycle; was a charter member of the North Hampton Seacoast Club for many years and a lifelong member of the Harley Owners Group.

He enjoyed his camp on North Pond, Norway, ME and belonged to the Norway Tractors Snowmobile Club.

Ed is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ellen; Daughter, Rebecca Barnes; Grand-daughters Jessica Shapleigh and her partner, Tony Camarato, Andrea and her husband Greg Holden, and Christine Barnes; Grandson, Bryan Barnes; Great Grandsons, Dillon Holden, Carson Barnes, and Connor Nunan; Sister-in-law, Joyce Bowen.

Ed was predeceased by his brother, Fredrick Bowen; Daughter, Charlotte Shapleigh; Great-granddaughter, Annamarie Camarato; and Great-grandson, Patrick Hogan.

Special thanks to the staff of Durgin Pines for their loving care. A graveside service will be held at Brooks Memorial Cemetery in the spring.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society.  Care of the Bowen family has been entrusted to the J S Pelkey and Son Funeral Home.
