Kittery Point - Edwin Paschal Leake, Jr., 93, passed away May 21, 2022, at his home in Kittery Point, ME.

Ed was born in Benchley, TX on July 24, 1928, the son of Edwin P. Leake, Sr and Emily (Lanehart) Leake. He moved from Texas to Mississippi as a child and joined the Navy at the age of 17.

Ed spent 21 years in the Navy and his favorite posting was to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, ME, where he met his wife, Margery. Ed and Margie were married for 58 years before her death in 2014. After retiring from the Navy, Ed joined the United States Postal Service. He was a long-term Postmaster in Kittery Point.

Ed is survived by his son, Tom and his wife, Jonel and his grandson, Evan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, his brothers, Wallace Leake, Julius Leake, and Clarence Leake, and his sisters, Betty Foreman and Gracie Hazlip.

While Ed missed Margie fiercely after her death, he enjoyed living next to Tom and Jonel and especially enjoyed coffee time with them.  A trip to Washington, DC with Evan and Honor Flight Maine was a memory that both he and Evan cherished. A true southern gentleman, Ed will be missed by all that knew him.

Services: A time of visitation will take place Thursday, May 26 ^th , from 5-7p, at the JS Pelkey & Son Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Rd, Kittery, Maine, 03904.
