Middleton, NH- Eleanor G. Roy, 86 of Fox Road in Middleton died on April 1, 2016 at her home following a period of failing health.
Born in Ossipee New Hampshire on January 29, 1930 she was a daughter of the late Robert and Helen Grant.
She met and married her loving husband Leo R. Roy Sr, and together they made their home and raised a family.
Eleanor worked in the shoe industry as a young woman and cared for her children at home while they were growing up. Later she worked for many years at Thompson Center Arms.
She was an avid reader and as an active member for many years of the Farmington American Legion Auxillary working on many community projects. She worked tirelessly to support the veterans home in Tilton and was a leader bringing the New Hampshire Veterans Cemetery to Boscowen for the Veterans and their families.
Eleanor is survived by her children; daughters Rachael E. Edmunds and her partner Kent Hamilton, Roxanna Forsyth, and Kim Jenness , her son Leo Jr and his wife Linda Roy, ten grandchildren three brothers Herbert, Eugene and Donald Grant and many neices and nephews.
Friends are invited to visit with Eleanor's Family on Monday April 11, 2016 from 10-11 amin the Bernier Funeral Home at 49 South Street Somersworth NH 03878, where a funeral will be held at 11 am with the Rev. Linda Hirst from the First Federated Church in South Berwick officiating. Burial will follow next to her husband in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
