York, ME - Elizabeth "Betty" Lovering, 92, died Tuesday April 27th 2021, following a period of failing health. Betty was born February 23,1929 in Manchester, NH to Ethel and Howard Sheldon.

Betty had three loves in her lifetime - the Lord, Jesus Christ; her husband and best friend, Dick; and her children and grandchildren.

She loved spending summer time at the lake with her four boys - Andy, Rick, Bob and Tom. She also loved knitting and sewing and kept everyone warm with fun winter hats and blankets. Each year she looked forward to the ground thawing, the flowers blooming and her garden growing.

Betty attended the Middle Street Baptist Church in Portsmouth for many years before moving to York. For the past 15 years she has called the Cape Neddick Baptist Church home.

Betty is survived by her son, Andy Lovering of York, Maine, six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Dick Lovering, sons Rick, Bob and Tom and her two brothers, Lee Sheldon and Ronnie Sheldon.

Services: A memorial service will be held at 11am Saturday morning, May 8th, at the Cape Neddick Baptist Church, 34 River Rd, Cape Neddick, ME 03902. There will be refreshments in the parish hall following the service. Care of the Lovering family has been entrusted to the J S Pelkey and Son Funeral Home.
