Berwick: Esther E. (Neal) Gordon, 80, formerly of Morse St. died October 29, 2011 at the Rochester Manor. She was born in Barrington January 11, 1931 the daughter of Vira Neal. Esther had lived in the Barrington & Strafford area prior to moving to Berwick with her husband, Richard. Prior to retirement, she had worked at Janco and area shoe shops. Esther enjoyed doing many crafts, especially crocheting and quilting, not hesitating to share with others that which she made. Esther took great joy in her granddaughters and spent many hours with them sharing her crafting and cooking skills. You would always see her at their school and sporting functions, being their biggest supporter. She will always be remembered and loved for the important role she played in their lives. Members of the family include her sons, Neal Gordon and his wife Judy of South Berwick and Jim Gordon and his wife Karen of Biddeford as well as Esther s two granddaughters, Katie & Allison to whom she was so devoted. She is also survived by her siblings Richard and Kenneth Neal, David and Edward Arnold and Myra Stone. A time of sharing and remembrance will be held Tuesday November 8th from 3-5 p.m. at Bernier Funeral Home 49 South St. Somersworth. Esther will be buried next to Richard in Evergreen Cemetery, Berwick. Family flowers only, please. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer s Association.
