Kittery, ME - Ethel E. Holt, 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 31, 2021.

Born on November 4, 1925 in Eliot Maine, the daughter of Ethel L (Dixon) Dame and Wilbur E Dame, the youngest of eight brothers and sisters. She was predeceased by her husband Norman Y Holt Sr and is survived by her daughter Susan C Holt, stepson Norman Y. Holt Jr, his wife Diane, their son Brian C Holt, his wife Carrissa and several nieces and nephews.  She graduated Eliot High School, Class of 1943.

Her career was spent as an Secretary/Receptionist for several different insurance companies, ending her working time at the Charter House Motel.

She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on October 14, 2000, a member of the Portsmouth, NH congregation. She thoroughly enjoyed her time spent in the ministry, sharing Bible truth and her future hope with others.

She enjoyed animals, music, gardening, crafts, and reading her Bible. She also enjoyed time spent going to the fairs, doing errands, and stopping for ice cream with her daughter. Ethel had a sincere interest in her family and friends with a strong desire to help in any way she could; she proved to be a discreet and compassionate listener as well. She displayed the fine qualities of a strong will and determined independence. She will be remembered by many that knew her as a gentle, sweet lady with a ready smile.

The family wishes to thank the entire staff at the Inn at Edgewood Centre in Portsmouth NH for the kind and compassionate care she received during her residence there.
