Eunice D. Sillsby's Obituary
Portsmouth- Eunice D. Sillsby – 88 of the Wentworth Home in Portsmouth, NH passed away peacefully Saturday March 26, 2016 surrounded by family. She was born on November 23, 1927 in Kittery Point, Maine daughter of Arthur and Myra (Stinchfield) Seaward. Where she grew up and went to the Kittery schools. In 1949 she married Robert "Bud" Sillsby he built a house next to her parents where they made a home for their Children. She worked as a telephone operator for AT&T, was a lunch lady at Mitchell School, and a sale associate for Porteous. They traveled the coast of New England and Canada in their boats for summer vacations. When they retired they traded the boat for a motor home and traveled the Eastern States until they discovered Homosassa Springs FL., where they divided their time with family in Maine until Bud's passing in 2003. She has lived at the Wentworth Home for the past few years enjoying the company of the other residents, the many activities and finding the joy of painting again.
She was pre-deceased by brothers Wesley of Saco, ME, Robert of Flushing, MI and Sister Ruth Stackpole of Saco.
She is survived by her son Robert of Rochester and his sons Joshua of Portsmouth and Rawson of Patchogue, NY. Her daughter Myra and her Husband Bill Cutts of Kittery Point, their daughter Lindsey and Son Andrew both of Kittery. Her son Blane and his wife Lee Perkins their daughters Alexandria, Arabella and Giselle of Kittery Point. Her son David and his wife Lori and daughters Olivia of Kittery and Bethany Ames of Eliot. Many nieces and nephews that have spread from coast to coast and from the Gulf of Mexico to the Canadian border.
Friends are invited to visit with Eunice's family on Saturday April 2, 2016 from 10-11am in the JS Pelkey Funeral Home 125 Old Post Road Kittery Maine 03904, where a funeral will be celebrated at 11am with the Rev. Hirst officiating. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.jspelkeyfuneralhome.com. Donations may be made in her memory to the Rice Public Library 8 Wentworth Street Kittery Maine 03904. Care for the Sillsby family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey Funeral Home.
