Evangeline (Van) Ann Skoolicas, aged 95, passed away surrounded by family in the early morning of November 11. Van was born on July 2, 1918 in Springvale, ME to Narcisse and Rose Anna Cormier. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles, her son Charles, her parents, and her 12 siblings. She is survived by her children George (Linda) and Carol (Richard), grandchildren Kathleen (Samuel) Jordan, Paul (Amanda) and Mark Johnson, Christina, Nicholas, Jennifer, and Julia Skoolicas, and great-grandchildren Charles and Zachary Johnson. As a young woman, Van worked at the Springvale shoe shop and later at the Portland naval shipyard during WWII. After marrying Charles she dedicated herself to raising her 3 children and helping out with the family radio and television repair shop. She loved traveling, following politics, and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be Friday from 7-9 p.m. at Bernier Funeral Home 49 South Street Somersworth. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish in Holy Trinity Church, 404 High Street Somersworth with Rev. Michael S.
