Everett H.
Kimball Jr.
Dec 1, 1940 — Jul 4, 2025
Everett H. Kimball Jr., 84, passed away on July 4, 2025, in Lebanon, New Hampshire, surrounded by his loving wife and daughters. He and his wife, Barbara, had recently moved to Peterborough, New Hampshire, after many happy years living on the southern coast of Maine.
Everett was born at home in Kittery Point beside a small pond he cherished throughout his life (the Kimball Pond) on December 1st, 1940. He attended Traip Academy, where he was known for his quick humor and was voted class clown in his senior year. He often shared fond memories of catching eels in Chauncy Creek, delivery lobsters to local and regional restaurants, and spending time with his brothers at the Kimball Brothers Store.
He liked to say he first noticed Barbara on the basketball court when the York Girls team played Traip. They officially met when she worked at the Goldenrod, where he and his friends would linger over coffee to see her. They married in 1966 and have shared nearly 60 years together as a married couple.
Everett studied Mechanical Engineering at Northeastern University through the co-op program with Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, proudly becoming the first in his family to graduate from college. He enjoyed a long and dedicated career at the Shipyard. After retiring, he continued to help others by working each tax season at H&R Block for a few years.
Everett will be remembered in the community for his friendly and outgoing nature, always striking up conversations with store clerks, friends, or strangers. He loved to make people laugh and brighten their day.
His family and friends will fondly remember the summers spent on Little Beach with the summer crew, sharing laughter and breathing in the ocean air, while the children played in the waves, explored the rocks, and discovered the tidal pools. He always felt privileged to live in Concordville, so close to the beach and in a neighborhood that was more like family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Bertolini Kimball, and two daughters: Wendy Kimball (BJ) and Niki Kimball (Rafael Gracia). He was predeceased by his parents Everett H. Kimball and Hattie Kimball (Estes) and his brothers Clarence "Bud" Kimball and Walter "Nip" Kimball.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses in the Intensive Care Unit at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Hospital in Lebanon, NH. Your kindness and compassion will always be remembered.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date.
