Faith A
Hodgkins
May 11, 1962 — Jun 20, 2024
Faith A Hodgkins (Lombard), 62, of Kittery, ME, went to heaven peacefully on June 20th, 2024. She was at home surrounded by loved ones and prayers, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on May 11th, 1962, in Beeville, TX, to Rev. William Lombard and his wife Janice. As a child, Faith loved playing the piano and going on outdoor adventures with her dad and siblings. Her father was a Baptist Minister who also served in the U.S. Navy. She enjoyed many days in church as a young girl. She brought joy to everyone she met. She attended Somersworth High School but later obtained her G.E.D. She also received her CNA license. She held various roles in customer service, a factory doing line work, and several clerical positions. She had a love of thrift store shopping and was a natural at treasure hunting. She worked at Goodwill of Portsmouth, NH, for nearly 20 years.
Faith was a very grateful person, and she lit up any room with her genuine kindness and vivacious personality. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, being hands-on with playing, and spoiling them any chance she got. She enjoyed painting precious moments plaques, volunteering at her kids' elementary school in the classroom in the late '90s, riding on the back of the Harley Davidson motorcycle with her husband, gardening, and crafting dreamcatchers to gift to many friends and family members over the years. Faith was truly remarkable and brave, as she remained strong and positive throughout her sickness. Her dedicated husband of 18 years stuck by her side through it all.
She is predeceased by both her parents and her sister, Joanne Pike.
She is survived by her caring husband, Erland "Lyle" Hodgkins of Kittery, ME, and her loving children: Steven Lombard of North Berwick, ME, Jennifer Lombard of Dover, NH, Jessica Brighenti of Somersworth, NH, and four stepdaughters. Faith also leaves behind four loving siblings: William "Jim" Lombard of Sandown, NH, Amy Langevin of Otisfield, ME, Debra Foss of Westport Island, ME, and Michael Lombard of Fairfield, ME, as well as many nieces, nephews, her Aunt Linda from TX, and many dear friends. Faith left a legacy of love, selflessness, kindness, motherhood, hard work, and perseverance. She brought joy to everyone she met. "Do everything in love." 1 Corinthians 16:14
A memorial celebration will be held on Monday, July 22, 2024, at the Durham Evangelical Church, 114 Dover Road, Durham NH, from 12-2p for Faith's family and close friends to honor her life and remember the good times we shared. It was truly a gift to know and be loved by Faith.
