Faye Norene
Rix Hunter
May 16, 1937 — Dec 8, 2023
Faye Norene Rix Hunter
Faye, 86, passed away peacefully in her Dover, NH home surrounded by her family. Born on May 16th, 1937, in Lewiston Maine, she was the daughter of William Rix Sr. & Pauline Rix of Eliot, Maine.
Faye was the beloved wife of Benjamin Hunter Sr. for 44 years and they lived in Allston Mass, Pelham NH, Eliot Maine, and Wolfeboro NH during those years, and spent winters in Florida, until they finally settled in Dover NH. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with the grandkids. Faye worked with Ben at his business DSA, Inc. for many years and she also worked at Mari's treasures during their time in Wolfeboro. Their store in Eliot, the Carousel Horse was one of her passions. And many people will remember the Carousel Horse display in the window. She was also a regular volunteer at the Street Fair in Wolfeboro raising funds for Huggins hospital. If you visited the "Linen" tent you would have seen Faye there.
Faye was loved by all that knew her and was known for her giving heart and sense of humor, making jokes with anyone who visited right up until the end. She was known for giving "goodie bags" to the grandkids and they always looked forward to finding the prizes inside. She loved to make her famous fruit cake at Christmas and would ship them all the way to Washington state for her cousins to enjoy. Faye also loved to crochet in her spare time and made beautiful Afghans for her family and friends, but her best gift of all was in passing down her Faith to her family.
Faye was the family reunion matriarch and loved organizing the get togethers that were held in various locations over the years. God & Family were everything to Faye, and she made sure that her family had not only Faith but love for each other.
Faye also wrote a children's book titled; Little Angel in Pink and Friends a tribute to her daughter Laurie who died as a baby. Faye certainly is with Laurie now, and they are having a wonderful time together in heaven.
Faye is survived by her loving family, husband Benjamin J. Hunter Sr., her two brothers, Paul Rix & his wife Barbara, Jeffrey Rix & his wife Patty, two sisters Donna Barber &, Judy Rix Sargent, four daughters Linda Conley & her husband Brian, Wendy Marchand & her husband Ronald, Bonnie Shutak & her husband Jeffrey, Karie Merritt & her husband Rob, her stepchildren; Diane Reardon & her husband William, Deborah Best & her husband Hal, Susan Nye, Benjamin Hunter Jr. & his wife Karen, James Hunter & his wife Cindy. Faye is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 4 great great- grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Laurie Jean Morse, her parents, and siblings John Rix & William Rix Jr.
Faye's shining spirit will live on with her family and friends until we see her again....
