Obituary

Somersworth, New Hampshire - Florence (Lemire) Zrimsek, 98, passed away peacefully from natural causes on April 15th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Wentworth Douglass Hospital.

Florence was born on November 9, 1925, in Springfield, Massachusetts, the daughter of Avila and Lea (Lavoie) Lemire. She married her husband, Henry Zrimsek, in 1945, and they made their home in Somersworth. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Florence was a talented seamstress who made beautiful clothes and quilts. She loved to read, crochet, and bird watch. She worked at the Navy Yard during World War II. After her children were older, she was a Girl Scout troop leader and worked as a cashier and retail associate at Giant's, Champagne's, and Gregoire's Hardware.  Florence was loved by everyone who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.

Florence was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Henry Zrimsek, her sisters, Alice Green, Margaret Pease and Rose Freeman, and her brothers, Robert "Buddy" Lemire, Donald Lemire, and Bill Lavoie, and her son-in-law, Ron Soucy. She is survived by her daughter, Pat Soucy; her son, David Zrimsek, and his wife Marguerite; her granddaughter, Christine McAuley, and her husband, TJ; granddogs, Teddy and Trump, and great granddog, Stormy, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 18th, at the Forest Glade Cemetery in Somersworth, New Hampshire. Care has been entrusted to Bernier Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Florence's memory may make memorial donations to the charity of their choice.
