Kittery Maine-Frances A. Murray, 78 of Gray Lodge Road in Kittery died November 23, 2017 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital following a long period of failing health.
Born in Richmondville New York on September 12, 1939 she was a daughter of the late James C. and Edna E. (Slater) Bailey and attended local schools.
Following high school she proudly served our country as a member of the United States Navy. While serving our country she met and married her loving husband Roland Murray and they served in several duty stations while he finished his service career.
In 1966 they settled in Kittery where they raised a family. She was a home maker for many years before becoming a full time caregiver for their son Aaron following a tragic accident.
She was a very active member of her church, The First Congregational Church at Kittery Point, UCC serving on many committees early in life and always feeling great comfort and joy with her church family.
She is survived by her loving family; a daughter Deborah Drew of Kittery, sons Samuel J. and his wife Linda Murray of South Berwick and Daniel and his wife Katherine of N.C., grandchildren Ashley, Andrew, Jessica, Joshua, Katie, Matthew, Daniel Jr, Billy, and several great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband Roland and their son Aaron.
Friends are invited to visit with Frances's family on Friday from 6-8 p.m. in the JS Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, Maine 03904. A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday at 1pm in the First Congregational Church at Kittery Point, UCC 23 Pepperrell Road Kittery Point 03905 with the Rev. Brian Gruhn officiating.
