Obituary

Frank Miller Clark, Jr passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 6th, 2023 in Portsmouth, NH at the age of 96. He was born March 8th, 1927 in Bridgeport, CT., to parents Frank and Ebba Clark.

Franks leaves behind his wife of 73 years Ruth Waldhaus Clark,who he met during their childhood and married in 1950. Frankwas a veteran, serving the country in the US Army as an MP.

He earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Connecticut in 1949. His engineering prowess was evident in that wherever he lived, neighbors would bring broken items to be fixed and he would mend and repair and send back completely rebuilt.

He was athletic and spent many years as a ski patrol member in Connecticut at Sundown Mt and Scutney Mt where he taught his children the love of the sport. Bud was an adventurer and had his pilot's license and was known to sky dive on occasion. He and Ruth went to Alaska every year for 20 years to visit their children and grandchildren, Aaren, Melissa and Joshua Heuer, and to explore the wilds of Alaska.

Known as 'Bud' to Family and friends, in 1993 he and Ruth moved to Maine when he retired as VP of the Robert E Morris Company, living in Kittery Point and then Eliot. He was always interested in community and civic activities and before moving to Maine was chairman of the school board in New Hartford, CT, where he was instrumental in building a new school for the community.

Once he moved to Kittery, he became a member of Kittery Town Council and planning board and was active with Kittery Rotary.His passion was the redevelopment of the Kittery Foreside.

Later in life he spent many hours with two of his favorite things. Boating up Chauncey Creek to the harbor and the ocean and spending time with his dogs. He also looked forward to and enjoyed the visits from his granddaughter Ashley Clark of Portsmouth, NH.

He was predeceased by his son, Frank Edward Clark in 2013 and leaves behind his son Thomas O Clark and his wife Alison(Greene) of York, ME, his daughters Susan (Clark) Heuer of Anchorage, Alaska and Sandra (Clark) Rousseau of Beaverton,Oregon, his daughter-in-law, Cynthia (Carr) Clark of Kittery, ME, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Kittery Rotary Club POB 678 Kittery Maine 03904 .

Care for the Clark family has been entrusted to the JS Pelkey and Son Funeral Home.
