Obituary

Kittery Point- Frank C. Frisbee II, passed on October 4, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Frank was born February 20, 1930, on top of Frisbee's 1828 Market, to parents Solon and Edith (Phillips).

Frank attended Kittery schools, graduating from R.W. Traip Academy in 1948. After High School, he joined the U.S. Navy serving in the 6th Fleet, on the USS Juneau, as a Gunner's Mate working on the 16-inch guns, and then in the reserves till 1953. Frank and his brother Dave were co-owners of Frisbee's Market, and Cap'n Simeon's Galley Restaurant.

Frank was a Life member of Americas Water Ski Assoc., as a judge and expert slalom skier and mixed doubles; President of Pepperrell Cove Water Ski Club Incorporated. He served on the board for the Portsmouth Savings Bank, and was also past President for Maine Grocers Association, and Recipient of "Spirit of America" award in 1994, recognizing him for active involvements in legislative issues affecting the food industry of Maine. Frank was a member of the Lions Club as well as being a member of Kittery Point Port Authority for 57 years.  Frank also served his community as a member of the Kittery Fire Department for 66 years; serving as Deputy Chief for 27 years, past member and President of Maine Fire Chiefs Association, and Town Fire Warden. Frank also received the Kittery Fire Department meritorious service award in 2014.

Frank enjoyed special times with family, and friends. He looked most forward to the holidays when all of the family would come together to celebrate. He loved working closely with the Water Ski Club for 23 years. His favorite past times were taking trips on his yacht, the "Galley Girl". He had a passion for restoring a 1937 fire truck. He enjoyed taking trips through the National Grocers Association, where he was recognized for "Our Nation's Oldest Continuously Family-Owned Grocery Store" in 1984, and 2004.

Frank was predeceased by his father and mother, Solon and Edith (Phillips), his Late wife, Evelyn (Tiano), his Sons Dean, and Frank Frisbee III, and his brother, David. Frank is survived by his wife Bernice, of Kittery Point, ME; sisters, Brenda (Kinmond) of Ossipee, NH, and Judy (Richardson) of Eliot, ME; daughter Cindy, of Cape Neddick, ME; grandson Robert (Ficke) and fiance, Maria Jesserene (Abaquita) of Jacksonville, FL. Frank is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, and countless other loved relatives.

Services: A Time of Visitation will take place Tuesday, October 10, at J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, ME, 03904, from 4p to 7p. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, at the First Congregation Church, 23 Pepperrell Rd, Kittery Point, Maine, at 11a. Interment with military honors will take place immediately following the services at First Baptist Cemetery, Haley Rd, Kittery Point, Maine.
