Gary A. Collins, 78, of North Berwick, ME, passed away on June 21, 2020. Born on February 3, 1942, he was the second of two sons of James L. and Doris E. Collins of Tama, IA.

Immediately following high school, Gary enlisted in the Air Force. A few of his tours included Africa, Hawaii, Guam and Vietnam. While in training at Pease Air Force Base, he met his wife Marilyn W. Peirce. Gary married Marilyn in April, 1963. They were married 57 years.

Gary worked at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in shop 99 until the mid 1980's. He was a life member of the VFW Post 5744, South Berwick, ME.  He enjoyed camping and hunting with his son, Jim, and other family and friends. Gary had a great passion for reading, writing and painting. As a self-taught guitarist, he shared his love of music with his family, all of whom he loved dearly.

Gary is survived by his wife Marilyn, his brother James Kenneth (Kenny), his son and his wife James R. and Wendy, his daughters Wendy Jo, Kelli, and Julie and her husband Jay, his 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
