George A
Lawson
Aug 6, 1959 — Apr 30, 2021
George A. Lawson, 61, of Eliot, ME died Friday, April 30, 2021 peacefully at his home. Born in Brockton, Mass, on August 6, 1959, he was the son of Joanne and Bruce Lawson.
He is survived by his children, Sarah Lawson and partner Bobby Barney of Rochester, NH; Jesse Lawson and Husband Evan Farinholt of N. Berwick, ME; George Seth Lawson and wife Lauren Lawson of Berwick, ME; His grandchildren Claire, Mila, Sammy, Henry, Chase, and Colton. He also leaves behind his five siblings, aunts, uncles, and many cousins, whom he loved dearly.
George lived life to the fullest and always in his own way. A common expression of his was, "If I had to do it, I wouldn't". He was a rebel with the softest heart, who could bring a smile to anyone's face. He was tough as nails, a man's man, but also a lady's man. He loved his children and grandchildren more than can be expressed. He enjoyed cruising around and showing off his 1936 Buick, which his family will cherish as a physical remembrance.
George worked for the Allied Painters and Trade Union District 35 for most of his life, where he worked extremely hard, mentored many, and probably talked a lot of smack. He was an outdoorsman, a hunter, and the best shot with a bow and arrow. Having a love for the country, he served in the Army National Guard in the early 80s as a Military Policeman. He loved history, his Swedish and Irish ancestry, and brought his family up with stories from their ancestors and with a strong love of the Lawson name. To Valhalla!
