Rye, NH - Gerald Richard Sr., 91, passed away on December 1st, 2021, at Webster at Rye in Rye, NH. Gerald was born July 10, 1930, in Newburyport, MA, the younger of two children of the late Adeodat "Eddy" Richard and Marion Crocker Richard.

After graduating Newburyport High school with the class of 1948, Gerald attended Wentworth Institute in Boston and earned a bachelor's degree in construction management. Prior to entering the private work force, Gerald enlisted in the army for three years during the Korean War. After his time in the military, Gerald began a career in construction, building homes in the seacoast area for many years. He spent his last 20 years working for the Weathervane restaurant chain, buying and constructing new restaurants throughout New England. He met and married his lifelong partner, Mary "Nelly" Gaudete Richard in 1960. They built a home in North Hampton where they raised a family and resided for over 50 years.

After retirement Gerald and Nelly enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.

He was predeceased wife his wife Mary in 2010 and his daughter Laurie Anne in 1968.

Gerald is survived by his son Gerry and his wife Michelle of Kittery, his son David of Kittery, grandsons Nicholas and Kyser both of York, and several nephews and nieces.

At this time a private service will be held in honor of Gerald.
